What is the difference between Auto-VPS and Managed? ▼
Auto-VPS is a free provisioning service: we set up OpenClone on a VPS in your own cloud account (Hetzner, OVH, Vultr). You pay the VPS provider directly (~€5/mo) — we charge €0. Managed adds auto-updates, uptime monitoring, daily backups, and priority support on top of that, for €5/mo to us. Total cost for Managed: ~€10/mo (€5 to VPS provider + €5 to us).
What does "zero-knowledge" mean? ▼
In self-host mode, your data never leaves your machine. In hosted/trial mode, data is encrypted at rest on isolated servers. We never access, analyze, or sell your data.
Do I need a server running 24/7? ▼
For desktop-only use, no. Claude Code CLI queries your local vault directly. For mobile access, you need a home server (Mac Mini, Raspberry Pi) or a cloud VPS.
What is BYOK? ▼
Bring Your Own Key. You provide your own AI API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, Gemini). We never store or proxy your key. Your app calls the AI provider directly.
What happens after the trial? ▼
Your 7-day trial gives you full access to a hosted OpenClone instance. When it expires, you have 30 days to export or migrate your data before permanent deletion. Use our one-command migration script to move to your own VPS in minutes.
What is OpenClaw compatibility? ▼
OpenClaw is an AI agent framework. Your OpenClone memory vault can feed any OpenClaw agent, giving it your context, preferences, and decision patterns.
